Spain: Part two of three
Barcelona: Montserrat & Montjuic
Taking a welcome trip out the hustle & bustle of central Barcelona I visited Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey which is about an hour by train from central. The mountain monastery is another awe-inspiring place to check out and you getting to it requires a ride on a cable car (or funicular if you don’t like heights), after a visit to the church and taking in the views I headed up on the other funicular and into the mountain trails, climbing around those in just trainers was a memory I’ll never forget! but let’s just say there were a few ‘slip here and it’s adios amigo’ moments..
